National Aboriginal Day: We need to have all the voices heard

​​​​​​​As part of Canada 150, a Government of Canada priority, our members are engaged in building events and other initiatives. But many of our members are also keenly aware that Canada 150 carries many inherent contradictions.

Usurpation of CAPE intellectual property

The authorized domain names for CAPE’s official website are “www.acep-cape.ca” and “www.cape-acep.ca”. CAPE is concerned that the domain name “www.cape-acep.com” is confusingly similar to its authorized domain names and may be misleading to CAPE members and members of the public, particularly since the website has also featured CAPE’s graphics and logo in the past.

Information on retroactive pay for EC and TR retirees

The retroactive period is from the effective date of the salary revision (June 22, 2014 for ECs – April 19, 2014 for TRs) up to and including the day before the collective agreement is signed on May 24th, 2017. If you were an employee anytime during this period, you are entitled to retroactive pay.

Changes to parental leave?

In the 2017 budget, the Liberal government announced plans to allow new parents greater flexibility over parental leave.

Collective agreements to be signed in May

Now that the tentative agreements have been ratified by the EC and TR membership, the new collective agreements take effect once they are signed by both parties.
