We are calling on members in the National Capital Region to show their support for the hundreds of civilian staff working across six military bases in Ontario and Quebec who went on strike on January 15 by joining their picket line in Ottawa at noon on March 13.
Join members of CAPE’s National Executive Committee on the picket line:

Represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada’s Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE), these are federal public sector workers but do not fall under the Public Service Employment Act and are paid lower wages than other public sector employees in similar roles.
As they approach two months of being on strike, CAPE would like to help ramp up the pressure for a fair deal for our siblings in UNDE.
Please keep in mind that you must still report for work on the hours that you are scheduled and continue to perform your duties. If you are unable to make it to a picket line during your lunchtime or off-work hours, there are many other ways you can support NPF workers:
- Share your support on social media and encourage your followers to take action for striking workers.
- Send a message to the government to table a fair offer for striking NPF workers.
- Send a letter to Bill Blair, Minister of Defence, and Ian Poulter, CEO of the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, to push them to secure a fair contract for members.
