Position Summary


Under the direction of the Senior Advisor, President’s office, the Organizer plays a crucial role in boosting and maintaining active membership at all levels of the association, from local leadership to rank-and-file members. They will also work on enhancing members’ sense of ownership of their association and building members’ abilities to lead change through their involvement in their union. Under the guidance of the Lead Organizer and Advisor, the Organizer is responsible for implementing the union’s transition to an “organizing model” on a local and workplace level. Specifically, they recruit member-organizers, build local organizing committees, and guide members on how to map their workplaces and to systematically build capacity to take collective action on the job and in their communities. 

The Organizer creates campaign materials and resources, facilitates organizing-related training, develops leaders and coordinates their assigned network of member-organizers. They develop campaign metrics and regularly report on progress to the Lead Organizer and Advisor and the Senior Advisor and participate in campaign planning. They work collaboratively and coordinate with other divisions to ensure that member-organizers receive the various forms of support they need.

Position Summary

 

 Reporting to the Director of Communications and Public Affairs, the Digital Communications Advisor works collaboratively in support of the Communications Advisor (Digital Engagement) as part of the Communications and Public Affairs team. The advisor supports digital member engagement, outreach strategies, and the management and maintenance of various digital tools and channels. Key responsibilities include managing member emails and CAPE’s bilingual website to ensure these digital channels effectively serve CAPE members and align with communication and engagement goals. The role also involves publishing high-quality, relevant bilingual content in a timely manner and coordinating with various divisions to promote their content by email, the website and social media. Additionally, the Digital Communications Advisor plays a crucial role in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on digital engagement effectiveness, providing valuable analytical insights and reports.

The Digital Communications Advisor will be expected to take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed, in collaboration with other members of the team and across divisions.

The Translator and Coordinator is responsible for coordinating translation requests, triaging demands and assigning work to senior translators and discussing deadlines with clients. The Translator and Coordinator is also responsible for translating and reviewing a variety of documents accurately and efficiently, more generally from English to French, while maintaining the original meaning, format, and tone, and compliant with CAPE inclusive writing guide (French / English).
