After communicating the news of the updated Public Service Health Care Plan last fall, CAPE would like to bring you up to date regarding a temporary increase in physiotherapy coverage for 2023.
After strong feedback from members across the federal public sector, bargaining agents and representative groups asked the Employer for some changes in the physiotherapy coverage.
As a temporary measure to allow Plan members to explore other treatment or benefit options, Canada Life has now been instructed to allow the full $1,500 worth of eligible physiotherapy claims between July 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023. This will be in addition to claims submitted prior to July 1, 2023, under the existing plan.
Thank you to the members who spoke up about the adjustments. CAPE will continue to push for changes in the best interest of its members through its participation in the National Joint Council.
