At the last NEC meeting on March 1, 2024, a motion was passed to fund a CAPE member delegation of one or two people to attend the 2024 UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent from April 16 to 19 in Geneva. Selected delegates will bring a report back to support the development of a member-led strategy for holding our federal government employer accountable to its international commitments on combating anti-Black racism, inside and outside of the workplace.
Members are to apply by end of day Wednesday, March 27, 2024, via this form, and include their motivation for attending and how they plan to bring back learnings to support member organizing to combat anti-Black racism. The president will make a decision and inform selected candidates by the end of the day on March 29.
CAPE will discuss leave processes with successful candidates once selections have been made.
