My name is Megan Wylie and I’m one of CAPE’s 23 EC Directors for the National Executive Committee (NEC). I am a part of the Members for Change team and I use she/her pronouns.
I am currently a Policy Analyst with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). My work focuses on reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, where I work on regulatory reform for natural resource projects. In the past, I’ve worked in contribution-based funding programs targeting Indigenous recipients and Indigenous engagement on energy efficiency and green buildings. I’m an active volunteer with NRCan. For example, in 2023, I volunteered as a co-chair for the NRCan’s Policy Analyst Recruitment and Development Program Network (PARDP), organizing events and creating supporting materials for new staff joining the government.
Before joining NRCan, I worked with a small non-for-profit called Open North as a Research Analyst and Program Manager. I also studied Geography and Environmental Studies with a focus on economic inequality and social determinants of health at the University of Waterloo (BA) and McGill University (MA).
In addition to my EC Director role on the NEC, I’m also the Vice-President of Local 101, representing CAPE members across Newfoundland and Labrador and I am a member of the Solidarity Caucus. In these roles, I’ve organized educational events and worked with CAPE members to improve workplace conditions.
