Annie Yeo (she/her) is proud to be the youngest member ever to be elected as a Vice-President in CAPE’s history.
She has been a policy analyst at Employment and Social Development Canada’s Labour Program since starting her career as a co-op student in 2020. She quickly became a local leader as a secretary and steward, and subsequently president of Local 514.
During her time as president, she led her local and helped grow the membership into one of the most organized and active locals of CAPE. Annie believes that locals are the backbone to a strong union and an informed membership. In her new role, she hopes to revamp all CAPE locals into thriving communities to best service and support members.
Annie is bilingual, having been born and raised in Montréal, QC. Throughout her life she has been passionate about progressive politics, volunteering her time to campaigns and movements that promote women in politics, protect students, combat the climate crisis, defend workers, and now, empower the members of CAPE.
She was elected with the progressive 21-person team called Members for Change in the 2023 election. The whole team was elected, campaigning on a monumental platform of democracy, equity, and solidarity.
