The authorized domain names for CAPE’s official website are “www.acep-cape.ca” and “www.cape-acep.ca”. CAPE is concerned that the domain name “www.cape-acep.com” is confusingly similar to its authorized domain names and may be misleading to CAPE members and members of the public, particularly since the website has also featured CAPE’s graphics and logo in the past.
As a result, and since this was the only mechanism available to the Association to uncover who had secured this domain name anonymously, CAPE has filed a complaint under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy with the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center, the body charged with resolving internet name disputes. This matter is currently being considered by WIPO and CAPE looks forward to its timely resolution.
