Shortly, Treasury Board will announce that the accumulated overtime unused by EC employees will not be automatically paid out by September 30, as per article 28.14 b) of the CAPE – Treasury Board collective agreement.
The employer is looking to take some of the pressure off the Phoenix pay system; this is why there won’t be an automatic payout to affected employees. Instead, the employer will only pay the unused accumulated overtime to employees who make the request in writing.
Please note that this does not apply to TRs, as they already have from September 30 to January 1 to use their accumulated overtime.
