Diversity makes us stronger. That's why CAPE is proud to be taking part in a series of events aimed at celebrating pride and putting an end to bullying.
Members are invited to join us for a panel discussion on April 12 at 6 p.m. at the Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Ave. West - Councillor's Lounge) featuring Stonewall activists Nance Lomax and Suzanne Poli.
The event is only a prelude to the annual Day of Pink gala on April 13. CAPE National President Emmanuelle Tremblay will be there to express our organization's solidarity with the LGBT community. We are proud to take a stand against bullying, which exerts such a pernicious and lasting effect in the lives of its victims; no one should be made to feel inferior because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
If you're part of the LGBT community and are interested in the promotion of equality rights, please send us a message. CAPE is looking to partner with PSAC and PIPSC to create a cross-union LGBT rights committee. We respect individuals' right to self-disclosure; your information will be kept confidential and only shared with eventual members of the committee and its support personnel.
