TRANS MARCH - NCR - Friday, August 23

August 23 at 6 pm ET. Please bring your CAPE flags/t-shirts and look for others with CAPE flags/t-shirts at the corner of Bank and Gladstone. This is a wonderful opportunity to show solidarity and allyship with the trans community and celebrate trans liberation and joy.
 

CAPITAL PRIDE PARADE - NCR - Sunday, August 25

CAPE will once again be participating in the Capital Pride Parade this year on Sunday, August 25 at 12:30 pm ET and we wanted to invite you all to join us in solidarity, support and allyship with the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Details and RSVP.


WEBINAR Union and political activities in the workplace (French) – Monday, August 26

You are invited to participate in a virtual lunch and learn session on ‘union and political rights in the workplace’ from 12 pm to 1 pm ET.  This session will be held in French. An English session was held on August 12. If you are unable to attend, please note that this session will be recorded and shared with members afterwards. Details and RSVP.

WEBINARS - JOINT UNION TOWNHALLS ON RTO - August 27 and August 28 

To help address return-to-office concerns, CAPE. PSAC, PIPSC and ACFO are hosting a virtual town hall on telework. This is an opportunity to hear from all four president on the fight, discuss the challenges of the in-office mandate and how we can collectively push for a future of work that benefits everyone — a future where flexible work arrangements are the norm, not the exception. 

There are three times available to help meet members’ schedules:

o             Tuesday, August 27, 5 p.m. ET 

o             Wednesday, August 28, 12 p.m. ET 

o             Wednesday, August 28, 8 p.m. ET

WEBINAR - Indigenous Solidarity – Thursday, August 29 

On August 29 at 12 pm ET, CAPE President Nathan Prier will be hosting a webinar for members where he will discuss the issue of Indigenous solidarity within the federal public sector, specifically highlighting the case of the Grassy Narrows community. Details and RSVP.
 

LABOUR DAY MARCH AND PICNIC – NCR – Monday, September 2

National Capital Region locals are welcome to join in the Labour Day March and Picnic on Monday, September 2. The march starts at noon at City Hall (110 Laurier Ave W). Members are also invited to join fellow federal public sector unions at the PSAC headquarters (233 Gilmour St.) from 10-11:30 am ET for poster making and light refreshments. Contact your local leader to get involved! 
 

JOINT UNION RTO RALLY, NCR – Monday, September 9 

The first day of the three-day in-office mandate begins on September 9 and CAPE, ACFO, PIPSC and PSAC will come together for a rally in front of IRCC at 8 am. CAPE local 522 at IRCC will also be the first department to deliver their petition to their DM that day. Sign the petition for your department and share with your colleagues of any union.
