CAPE’s Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer group vote in favor of a new collective agreement

Ottawa - The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) announced today that CAPE’s Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer (OPBO) group voted in favor of a new collective agreement.  

All members who voted were in favor of the agreement.

The deal will benefit all 31 CAPE OPBO members.

The tentative agreement was reached with the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer on November 5, 2021 and was put to the vote shortly after. The agreement brings improvements to the OPBO collective agreement, refining benefits in areas such as pay, leave provisions, teleworking, career development, and protections against electronic monitoring among others. 

General highlights of the agreement: 

The new 4-year agreement includes the following pay adjustments: 

2.1% effective September 21, 2021;
2.1% effective September 21, 2022;
2.1% effective September 21, 2023;
2.1% effective September 21, 2024.

The parties have also agreed to a one thousand dollars ($1,000) signing bonus for all members of the bargaining unit on the date of ratification.
