The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) would like to express its support and solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Québec public sector workers who are, or will soon be, on strike. These workers are responsible for critical and necessary services for the people of Québec – namely education and healthcare – and are fighting for better pay and working conditions.
“Like CAPE’s members in the federal public sector, these workers are resilient and hard working,” said CAPE President Scott Crawford. “They are also just looking for a fair deal and improved working conditions to better help them provide services to the population.”
CAPE calls on the Government of Québec to step up and support public sector workers which in turn will ensure the people of their province have access to quality fundamental services.
For anyone looking to support Québec’s teachers who are on an unlimited strike, there is a Facebook group (French only) set up with various ways to help, as well as an email address to contact if you’re not on Facebook.
