October is Canadian Islamic History Month, a chance to recognize the significant role that Muslim communities play in Canadian society and their extraordinary contributions.
Muslim communities have been in Canada as far back as the 1860s and Islam is the second most common religion across the country. Our union, our workforce, our communities and our country are stronger and more vibrant when we embrace our diversity and promote peace and understanding between different faith communities.
Let’s continue to learn more about the history and contributions of Muslims in Canada and recognize and share gratitude for the many contributions of Muslim Canadians to the social fabric of our country.
