Run for an elected position on the National Executive Committee and contribute to your union!
If you would like to serve on CAPE’s National Executive Committee (NEC), you have until Friday, September 1, 2023, to submit your nomination. This is your opportunity to define the future of your union and to play a critical role in CAPE’s oversight.
All positions are open for election for a three-year term beginning on January 1, 2024. Members will get a chance to vote for their new NEC after the Annual General Meeting 2023.

Members belonging to equity-deserving groups are encouraged to run for office to contribute their unique experience and perspective to the national conversation and help build a diverse board of directors. Regional and linguistic diversity are also encouraged.

Nomination documents and submission deadline
All required documents (nomination forms and biographical notes) must be received at CAPE’s national office by 4:00 p.m. (EDT) on September 1, 2023. Candidates’ biographical notes will be published on CAPE’s website during the election campaign. You may also submit a photo with your biographical information.
**ATTENTION**
Absolutely no documents will be accepted after the September 1 deadline. Don’t delay! Now is the time to put the final touches on your submission and make sure it gets to us on time.
For nominations for the positions of President and Vice-President, please note that electronic forms or emails will be accepted in lieu of hard copy nominations. The nominations could either include 10 separate forms duly completed, signed and mailed before the deadline to the National Office at the address listed below, or 10 forms in support of the nominations filled and submitted electronically before the deadline.

Role of the Elections and Resolutions Committee
As per By-Law 3.2, the Elections and Resolution Committee (ERC) has complete and full jurisdiction over the election process. The ERC is comprised of volunteer members who are expected to act impartially and independently to ensure a fair and democratic election process. Members of the ERC are neither candidates for the election they are overseeing nor holding a seat on the National Executive Committee. The ERC’s role and authorities are outlined in Article 15 of CAPE’s Constitution.
