Locals in the National Capital Region are all welcome to participate in the annual march and picnic organized by the Ottawa and District Labour Council (ODLC).
The event takes place on Monday, September 2nd with the march leaving at 12:00 pm ET from City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) and heading to McNabb Park (180 Percy St) where a free picnic will begin around 12:45 pm ET.
CAPE locals are invited to join their Public Service Alliance of Canada counterparts ahead of the march from 10:00 am ET to 11:30 am ET in the parking lot of the PSAC headquarters (233 Gilmour St). This is a chance for CAPE members to meet members from other locals and other federal unions, make signs, and enjoy light refreshments. Participants will then walk to City Hall to join the ODLC’s march to McNabb Park. To align with the inter-union remote work campaign, members are encouraged to wear green to the event.
All are welcome to join the march and picnic, though groups are asked to register their participation in advance. The ODLC is seeking volunteers to help with the picnic and march, including marshals along the route, help with the barbecue and cleanup help after the event.
Please click here for bilingual posters produced and shared by the ODLC for sharing on your union bulletin boards, in your newsletters and on social media.
Wear your green shirts and invite your members to join in this show of solidarity.
