The great strength of CAPE arises from its Local leadership. Local leaders are highly committed, well-informed professionals who are close to the issues and the action. The newly developed Local Leaders Training Sessions will enable Local Leaders to expand their knowledge and skills to help ensure effective labour leadership in the workplace. At the end of this training, participants will gain a better grasp of the Local’s relationship with CAPE National, other Locals and other unions within their workplace, understand consultation processes, the framework that protects the Local, as well as how to use it efficiently. Leaders will leave with the skills to successfully navigate their relationships with Employer representatives.
The sessions will be held in September 2022 and will be offered virtually to comply with Canadian public health guidelines and to respect CAPE’s position regarding the return to office. The sessions will be held in both official languages and are held over a one-day period. (1 French session and 1 English Session). The sessions are led by CAPE Labour Relations / Education Officers.
Minimum requirement: a minimum of five (5) members need to register for a course to be delivered online and we have a maximum capacity of fifteen (15) members per session.
The training is generally offered to Local Leaders. Please contact your dedicated CAPE Labour Relations officer or the Education section to find out more about the training sessions.
