Hybrid screening of films on the history of the labour movement and the Left in Canadian history

The Education subcommittee is pleased to host a hybrid series of three films on the history of the labour movement and the Left in Canadian history. Imperfect Union: Canadian Labour and the Left explores the birth of trade unions and political parties representing labour, from the beginning of industrialization until the late 1980s. 

The three films are:

  • Part I: International Background: Canadian Roots (October 24 – 6:00-7:30 pm ET)
  • Part II: Born of Hard Times (November 14 – 6:00-7:30 pm ET)
  • Part III: Falling Apart and Getting Together (December 12 – 6:00-7:30 pm ET)

     

Meeting details

Each film runs just under 60 minutes and will be screened at the CAPE National Office as well as online. A short discussion will follow each screening. Please note that we can facilitate in both official languages, but the films are in English.

A light dinner will be served. Seating is limited. If you would like to attend the first screening in person, please confirm your attendance using this link before October 17 to ensure that a seat will be available for you.
