In 2024, COVID-19 continues to impact the lives of millions of Canadians, not only in terms of continued acute infections and the compounded socio-economic damage from a multi-year global pandemic, but also as through the lingering and pervasive disease known as long COVID.
In response to a 2023 NEC resolution, CAPE presents a lunch and learn webinar to answer key questions for members:
- What is long COVID and how can members or their managers successfully develop accommodation plans?
- How can workers ensure proper COVID protections are in place in their workplaces, even as the scale of the pandemic declines?
Agenda

- Understand the medical condition known as long COVID
- Understand the prevalence and socio-economic impact of long COVID across Canada
- Know the common symptoms and prognosis for long COVID, as well as the impact in an occupational context (i.e., common functional limitations)
- Know your rights if affected by long COVID, and the process for seeking medical accommodation
- Follow case studies on long COVID, which give examples of how an accommodation plan can be implemented
