For those of you who will be in the National Capital Region at the end of this summer, CAPE will once again be participating in the Capital Pride Parade. This year, the parade will take place on Sunday, August 27 at 1 pm and we wanted to invite you all to join us in solidarity, support and allyship with the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Bigger and better
We had such a great time last year that we want to go even bigger and better in 2023. This year, CAPE will have its own marching contingent and spot in the parade, a shade tent in the staging area before the parade starts, as well as more pride merchandise, snacks and light refreshments to keep us cool.
High-level details
More details will come closer to the parade, but for now, here is what you need to know to join:
The parade takes place rain or shine on Sunday, August 27. We will be meeting between 12 to 1:30 pm, but the exact time will be determined closer to the day once we know our order in the parade. This will determine what time we start marching. Depending on where we are in the order, the parade ends anywhere from around 2:30 to 4 pm.
The parade starts at Elgin and Laurier and ends at Kent and Laurier.
Volunteer with us!
We will need a few extra people to help with setting up our shade tent and distributing merchandise and refreshments before the parade. If you would like to volunteer to come a bit early to help with that, please check that box on the RSVP form below and we will be in touch.
Please RSVP!
Please RSVP here to help us estimate numbers and supplies and stay tuned for more details as we approach the parade date.
